[ give her a few minutes, and she'll be there in the courtyard. as soon as lance comes into view, ana runs up to him and pulls him into a tight embrace. ]

[thegoofball]

[Lance returns the embrace with a laugh.] Hey! [He doesn't quite lift her up from the ground, but he does hold her close for a moment before letting go of her.] I missed you.

[The words come out easily, and they're true. He wasn't gone for very long, but he missed her company anyways.]

You ready for this?

[highelves]

[ she laughs, too, content to just hug him for a little while longer before she pulls away. ]

I missed you too.

[ but he said he had something to show her, so she looks up at him, eyes wide and ready for something marvelous. ]

Absolutely!

Alright, we need to go to the Outlands, but...that's okay, right?

[He's really excited. Getting the lion wasn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to do, but...

He has to show somebody.]

[highelves]

A-As long as we don't venture too far in, I should be alright.

[ she just...doesn't trust herself to be combat ready, if something happens. ]

It'll be right there, I promise.

[Getting to the Outlands is pretty easy, and once they're over on the other side it's probably pretty apparent what Lance wants to show her. There's a huge, mechanical lion, staring own at them with yellow eyes.

He takes a step forward to it, stopping by one of its massive paws and spreading his arms out wide.]

Isn't this amazing?

[highelves]

[ she feels safer with lance at her side, but what he shows her is incredible. she can hardly believe what she's seeing. it's so...alive. ]

Incredible...

[ she's absolutely breathless. she takes a step closer to it, looking into its eyes. ]

What is this? It's magnificent! It's alive, isn't it?

[thegoofball]

I don't know - it definitely moves! [And seems to have a mind of it's own.]

But that's not the best part. C'mon.

[He motions her over.]

We can get inside of it.

[highelves]

[ she follows him easily, still holding onto his hand. and once they're inside... ]

It's some sort of...ship? Robot? Wow, this is...

[ she looks at the controls. they're in a language she hasn't seen before. ]

Amazing.

Right? There were five of them, in front of this weird Castle.

[He looks pleased with himself.]

It's like it chose me.

[highelves]

[ she grins. he seems really happy, and that this mechanical...lion...chose him makes her really happy. ]

I'm really happy to hear that. It seems to respond to you, somehow.

[thegoofball]

Yeah...

[He slides into the seat of the cockpit, grinning up at Ana.]

Do you want to go for a ride?

[highelves]

Yes!

[ her eyes light up. ]

Absolutely, yes!

[thegoofball]

[He grins, taking the controls in hand. The lion responds to Lance's touch quickly, standing up straight. It seems to shake itself off, before it starts in a run before eventually launching itself right into the air.]

[highelves]

[ ana wraps her arms around the back of his seat while he pilots. she nearly topples over just from it standing up, and she clings to the chair as it shakes. but once it starts really moving, ana lets out a yelp...but she's laughing the rest of the way. ]

This is amazing!

[He's glad she's enjoying this. He had been a little worried, but...

He's glad.

He doesn't really have a destination in mind, so he just starts circling the area where the lion was parked.]

Isn't it?

[What's really amazing his her, though. He turns back to look at her, expression soft.]

Happy birthday.

[Again.]

[ that's fine with her. she doesn't really care where they go, as long as it's with lance.

...and not too far into the outlands, of course.

when he turns to her though, she has to wipe at her eyes. she'd been laughing so much that she teared up, and she grins down at him. ]

Thank you! This is the best birthday present I could have asked for!

[He's glad he's managed to do something right. His heart soars at that, and he turns his attention back to piloting.]

...Do you want to see something even cooler?

[He's grinning, eyes bright.]

Of course! Though I don't know what can be cooler than this, but I'm eager to see it!

Weeeell.

[He presses a button, and the lion opens its mouth to let out a stream of ice. It hits the ground, forming into a pillar, and Lance turns back to her with a grin.]

There's that.
